Blog Post 6: How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place

Hi everyone,

Journalism can make the world a much better place for many reasons

This profession allows to make visible situations that happen day by day, injustice and give voice to those who do not have it to be heard before the world.  It also informs and educates the population by delivering news on current issues or of interest.

Without journalism, people would not be able to connect, not there would be no media or they would know what is happening around them. They would only be able to see their reality and not that of others.

In a pandemic, journalism has been essential to report the negative effects of the coronavirus and how it has affected the whole world. As a result journalism has taken a lot of prominence. The world lives in uncertainty and people are at home anxious to know what happens at all times.

 I am very excited to know that I will be part of the change, where future journalism will have a new focus, it will be more critical and in favor of the people. It also motivates me that journalists are the main investigators and are vital to inform and carry out effective journalism. I see myself going to the street, empathizing with people, striving to show injustices and trying every day to contribute a grain of sand to build a better society through communications.
