Blog Post 7: An expert in my field who I admire
Hi everyone,
A person that I
admired in my "field" was Felipe Camiroaga.
Felipe camiroaga was born on October 8, 1966 in Santiago and died on October 2, 2011 in a tragic plane crash in Archipelago Juan Fernández.
He was an animator on several iconic Chilean television programs. Some examples are "Animal Nocturno" and the "Festival de la Canción de Viña del Mar". One of the most important in his career, the morning show "Buenos días a todos." Years ago, this television program was the favorite and always led in views by viewers.
Felipe Camiroaga was
not a journalist by profession. But when animating the morning show, he had a
unique charisma. I admire him for his ability to cheer up and emotionally move
people through a screen.
When I was a child I
always saw it with my mother on television and they were my first approaches to
journalism. At that time I was playing at being a journalist and I was inspired
to want to host a morning show or one day lead the "Festival de Viña".
(Girl dreams that I already left in the past haha)
This person marked
many citizens in the country. He helped foundations and did social work (often
in secret). Also, years ago it was not common to talk about politics or defend
positions in morning programs. Felipe Camiroaga was one of the few drivers who raised
their voices. He supported the "Penguin Revolution" and faced
ministerial authorities live.
Felipito was and will always be an icon of Chilean television! one of the few who spoke unusual topics on tv
